A bionic active electric field detection mechanism derived from weak electric fish is introduced. In order to optimize the active electric field detection method, the application of induced polarization method in exploration geophysics is studied. It is considered that underwater measured objects also have this induced polarization process under the same excitation conditions. An experimental platform environment is set up and a small reservoir is used to simulate the sea water environment, and then a mature equipment is used to conduct electric field detection experiments by DC induced polarization method and frequency conversion induced polarization method respectively. In two different experiments, different characteristic relationships are set up to quantify the experimental results. In each experiment, the blank background control group, copper cube, copper cylinder, aluminum cube, aluminum cylinder and plastic cylinder are tested respectively. The principle of DC induced polarization method is simple and the reduction degree is high. There are obvious differences between all experimental groups and blank background environment, and the induced polarization effect of all metal objects is stronger than that of non-metallic plastics, which is in line with theoretical analysis. Compared with the DC induced polarization method, the frequency conversion induced polarization experiment has no obvious correlation and law between groups.
