Abstract:Corner reflectors have strong reflection echo characteristics for radar electromagnetic waves, which can simulate military targets such as ships and armored vehicles. The surface of the metal corner reflector is damaged due to rust, oil pollution and other reasons during the using process, resulting in a serious decline in its performance. This paper studies the Radar Cross Section(RCS) characteristics of the corner reflector under different damaged areas and damage numbers are respectively studied. The RCS value of the metal corner reflector rapidly decrease with the number and areas of the damage of the reflecting surface increase, which can effectively quantitatively evaluate the residual electromagnetic wave reflection capability of the corner reflector.
