Abstract:Coatings with water-repellency and low infiltration on the surface of materials can be fabricated by super-hydro- phobic technology, which can keep spherical water droplets away from spreading, thus improving anti-corrosion and self-cleaning properties of materials. Research on application of super-hydrophobic materials of underwater vehicles has attracted more and more attention due to special infiltration property. The bottleneck problems of underwater vehicles can be effectively solved by super-hy- drophobic technology with sailing resistance reduction, antifouling and anti-corrosion property and noise reduction. This paper focu- ses primarily on the application of super-hydrophobic technology in the areas of resistance reduction, antifouling and anti-corrosion property and noise reduction of underwater vehicles.
